In addition to developing full-stack web or mobile applications, this role involves managing  server operations, mentoring interns, conducting data analysis, and contributing to research and content creation. Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the simulated trading platform, ensuring its smooth operation and bug-free performance. Proactively identify and resolve any issues or bugs, ensuring minimal disruption to users. Drive the initiative to make the platform open-source, promoting collaboration and community contributions.
• Develop full-stack web or mobile applications for proof of concept or research purposes, including front-end design, back-end development, API integration, and database management.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the server running the XRPL validator, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Mentor and collaborate with software development interns, assisting in the development and testing of prototypes or proof-of-concept models for new financial products and services.
• Assist in data collection from various sources, including industry events such as the Singapore Fintech Festival and public datasets.
• Utilize advanced statistical and analytical tools (Python, R, SQL) to derive actionable insights from data.
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and market research to support ongoing projects and inform decision-making.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and research logs to track progress and outcomes.
• Conduct fintech ecosystem landscape analysis and perform due diligence on potential industry partners to identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Support the maintenance of the FinTech Lab’s WordPress site, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant.
• Participate actively in team meetings, brainstorming sessions,  and technical discussions, and perform due diligence on potential industry partners to identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Assist in validating research methodologies, ensuring soundness and reliability of outcomes.
• Contribute to content creation for the FinTech Lab’s podcast, including editing, publishing, and promoting episodes.
• Help organize and coordinate events, seminars, and workshops hosted by the NUS FinTech Lab, supporting logistics and planning.

Requirements:

• Experience in full-stack development, with expertise in front-end and back-end technologies such as React, Angular, Node.js, Python, or Ruby on Rails.
• Strong knowledge of web application architecture, database management (SQL/NoSQL), and API development (RESTful or GraphQL).
• Hands-on experience with server management and maintenance
• Proficiency in statistical and analytical tools such as Python, R, and SQL for data analysis and deriving actionable insights.
• Strong project management and documentation skills, with the ability to track progress, maintain research logs, and produce comprehensive reports.
• Experience maintaining and managing WordPress sites, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and technical discussions.
• Strong organizational skills with experience in planning and coordinating events, seminars, or workshops.
• A strong interest in understanding fintech or a desire to learn more about the fintech industry.
