The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) delegation visited NUS College to exchange ideas on the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence. The discussion brought together representatives from NUS College, the NUS Artificial Intelligence Institute, and AI Singapore, including Jungpil Hahn, Dr. Eric J. W. Orlowski, Hakim Norhashim, and Laurence Liew, to explore innovation, governance, and responsible AI adoption.

The meeting focused on how AI can drive economic growth and technological advancement while addressing important issues such as governance, ethics, and societal impact. Participants shared perspectives on balancing innovation with effective policies and collaboration to maximize AI’s benefits while mitigating potential risks.

The visit also strengthened ties between Singapore and Sweden by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and research leaders. With a diverse delegation of Swedish entrepreneurs, innovators, and experts, the engagement highlighted the value of international partnerships in advancing AI research, innovation, and responsible technology development.
