Nicholas MacGregor Garcia is a Lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on the Educator Track and is also the Industry Relations Co-Director of the NUS Fintech Lab. Nicholas received his PhD from New York University and holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, as well as a Master’s in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on the sociology, ethics, and governance of blockchain and data science, and the application of data science tools for computational social science. Prior to starting his graduate studies, Nicholas worked with a variety of firms, including start-ups, public utilities, and large corporations such as Intel, IBM, and EA Games. This range of experience has given Nicholas a unique perspective on the potential applications of data science and blockchain technology. Nicholas is passionate about using his research to make a positive impact on the world and is constantly exploring new ways to do so.
